Summary Of The Role
As a Senior Control System Engineer
, you will design, program, and maintain PLC-based control systems that power the electromechanical functions of critical touchpoints. Your work ensures reliable, safe, and efficient automation for operations such as baggage handling, sensor integration, and peripheral coordination.

You'll make sure the automation logic behind physical components works seamlessly with embedded software, electrical systems, and mechanical design—keeping everything connected and running smoothly.

In addition, you'll
support new and existing customers in integrating Amadeus hardware and software products or solutions
, helping them achieve optimal performance and reliability.

This role also involves
occasional travel to Sydney
, giving you the opportunity to collaborate closely with teams and customers on-site.

Common Accountabilities

• Has the required technical/functional knowledge and experience in own discipline. Knowledge of the Amadeus business and how it is related to own area.
• Works using existing procedures or guidelines and provides inputs to support/influence area decisions. Makes recommendations on new solutions and proposes improvements by analyzing different sources of information.
• Works with a moderate level of guidance and direction from manager.

Specific Accountabilities

• Analyse customer systems and service requirements.
• Identify specific actions necessary to integrate Amadeus products/services.
• Establish and manage the product/solution integration schedule.
• Determine and document adaptations to Amadeus products and services.
• Write functional specifications used for customisation and/or verify that specifications reflect customer requirements.
• Guarantee that customised products/solutions meet specified requirements.
• Perform the necessary tests on the customized solution before it is delivered to the customer.
• Provide functional support and problem resolution to sales and/or customer functional staff.
• Support project activities during the implementation.
• Responsible for designing, developing, and testing software and hardware products (end user applications, systems software, mobile/web applications, database products, etc.) to external customers including:
• Planning and conducting software testing (including using programming languages to write code for use in testing the application/software code), performing analysis of test results, and tracking/reporting risk levels during test execution
• Responsible for designing, configuring, and installing information systems (including hardware and software) that have been purchased by the organization's customers.
• Collaborates with project managers to estimate the costs and technical requirements of modifying, configuring, and installing information systems products to meet customer needs and systems environment.
• Ensures smooth integration with customer's existing systems, Prepares flow charts, models, and procedures and conduct feasibility studies to design possible system solutions.
• Writes system and programming specifications so that when the system is implemented it will meet customer needs.
• Prepares and maintains technical documentation to guide system users and to assist with the ongoing operation, maintenance, and development of the system.
• Capitalizes on functional and technical knowledge to lead the activity and perform at the highest level.
