The company focuses on three main areas of services: IT Outsourcing (providing scalable integration of experienced professionals), Project Implementation (custom software development, web and mobile applications) and AI Consulting (helping organisations implement and optimise Artificial Intelligence strategies, from feasibility assessments to building predictive systems). iQube operates with a flexible, customer-centric approach, supporting both Portuguese national operations and international customers through a nearshore model.

Technical AI Consultant (Lisbon or Porto)

We are looking for a Technical AI Consultant with a builder's mindset to join our team. In this role, you will bridge the gap between high-level business strategy and technical execution. You will work directly with clients to identify opportunities for AI implementation and then get "under the hood" to build Proofs of Concept (PoCs), optimize prompts, and architect RAG-based systems.

*Required Skills & Experience*

  • Professional Experience: 1+ year of experience in a technical role involving AI (Software Engineer, Data Scientist, or Technical Consultant).
  • Programming Mastery: Strong proficiency in Python (specifically libraries like Pandas, OpenAI, and FastAPI).
  • AI Tooling: Hands-on experience with LLM APIs, Vector Databases, and Agentic frameworks.
  • Languages: English - Professional working proficiency (C1 level preferred) for international collaboration.
  • Location: Must be currently residing in the European Union (EU) with a valid work permit.

  • Hybrid with 2 days per week in the Lisbon or Porto office (we may accept remote, depending on the location of the candidate)

  • Preferred Qualifications (The "Plus" Factors)

  • Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS Bedrock, GCP Vertex AI, or Azure AI Studio).
  • Knowledge of front-end basics (Streamlit, Gradio, or React) to build quick UI wrappers for demos.
  • Understanding of AI Governance and GDPR compliance regarding data privacy.
  • A portfolio of personal or professional AI projects (GitHub links encouraged)

Technical Architecture: Design end-to-end AI workflows that solve real-world business bottlenecks.

Rapid Prototyping: Move from a client idea to a functional AI demo in days, not months.

Bilingual Expert: Act as a technical lead for projects spanning the English and Portuguese-speaking markets.

*Responsibilities*

  • Solution Engineering: Develop and deploy AI applications using Python and frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or Haystack.
  • Prompt Engineering & Tuning: Craft and optimize complex prompts for LLMs (GPT-4, Claude, Llama 3) to ensure high-quality, reliable outputs.
  • RAG Implementation: Build Retrieval-Augmented Generation systems, including vector database management (Pinecone, Milvus, or Weaviate).
  • Technical Workshops: Lead deep-dive sessions with client dev teams to explain API integrations, model selection, and AI safety.
  • API Integration: Connect AI models with existing client infrastructure (CRMs, ERPs, and legacy databases).
