Paço de Arcos, Portugal (Hybrid)We are seeking a talented DevOps Engineer to join the TransVerse Platform team, responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining the on-premise infrastructure of the TransVerse platform. This role focuses on building reliable, scalable, and secure services using private cloud technologies, ensuring seamless support to multiple Hitachi Rail product lines

You will be part of an international and cross-functional team, contributing to a modern DevSecOps platform that powers mission-critical applications in the railway domain.
Description
- Participate in the build and deployment of the TransVerse Platform using appropriate tools and scripts
- Manage the continuous integration systems used to build our software products
- Manage the automated deployment toolchain and process to enable seamless delivery to target environments
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Ansible
- Manage and maintain development tools used by the engineering team, ensuring scalability and resilience
- Operate and scale monitoring systems to ensure end-to-end visibility of the production environment
- Document processes and user guides for integrated tools and scripts
- Advise on emerging technologies and methodologies
- Support the migration of our Java/Linux stack to a containerized platform, integrating the right development, deployment, and orchestration tools
- Design and implement tests—preferably automated—to verify platform functionality, performance, and security, ensuring continuous validation and reliability
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Systems or a related field
- Proven experience with OCI Images and Kubernetes
- Proven experience maintaining distributed data services on Kubernetes (eg. PostgreSQL, Redis, RabbitMQ)
- Advanced Linux administration skills
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Strong knowledge of network security and administration (firewalls, switches, load balancers)
- Experience with monitoring and metrics systems such as Prometheus and Grafana
- Experience with log aggregation and analysis tools (e.g., Opensearch, ELK stack, Fluentd)
- Experience with creating and maintaining Jenkins jobs
- Excellent scripting skills
- Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible)
- Strong interest in deployment pipelines and continuous delivery
- Experience writing automated tests (e.g., using Robot Framework, Playwright or similar tools)
- Good communication skills
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Experience with Azure is a plus
