Principal Engineer – Cyber Security

We are seeking a Principal Engineer – Cyber Security to act as a senior technical authority in cyber security–focused opportunities, supporting Business Development and the delivery of complex, high-assurance projects. The role bridges sales and delivery by translating security, risk, and compliance needs into secure-by-design solutions, combining deep technical expertise with strong business acumen.

What will be your task

Pre-Sales & Business Development

Act as the technical authority for cyber security–driven opportunities, supporting sales teams and leading customer engagements across regulated and safety-critical domains. You will shape opportunities by defining cyber security strategies, leading technical discussions with customers and partners, and contributing to targeted go-to-market and thought-leadership initiatives.

Solution Design & Business Proposals

Define and own cyber security solution concepts aligned with customer risk profiles, regulatory requirements, and business objectives. You will contribute to business proposals through security concepts, threat and risk analysis, and compliance strategies that clearly articulate value and feasibility.

Delivery Support

Provide technical leadership and oversight to delivery teams, ensuring secure-by-design implementation aligned with proposed architectures and best practices. You will support critical project phases through technical reviews, security assessments, validation activities, and mentoring of engineers and architects.

Driving Innovation

Stay current with emerging cyber security threats, technologies, and regulations, translating insights into improved solutions and offerings. You will represent the organization in relevant industry events, forums, and technical communities, strengthening technical credibility and market positioning.

What do we expect from you?

Extensive experience in cyber security and secure systems engineering, with 10+ years overall and several years in senior or principal technical roles, including pre-sales support, solution architecture, and technical leadership.

Deep expertise in cyber security architecture, risk management, and secure engineering, ideally in regulated or safety-critical environments, with strong knowledge of relevant standards and frameworks (e.g. ISO/IEC 27001, NIST, IEC 62443, DO-326A/ED-202A, GDPR).

Strong customer and business orientation, with the ability to build trusted relationships, support commercial activities, and contribute to complex project delivery across international markets (Central Europe, Northern Europe, and the US).

Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills, including the ability to influence stakeholders, mentor engineers, and guide both sales and delivery teams.

Degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security or a related field (Master's preferred), with fluency in English (German is a plus).
