Role Description

This is a contract-based, on-site (hybrid) role for a PhD Researcher in Biomedical Engineering, located in Porto. The researcher will focus on advancing scientific knowledge and technological development within the field of biomedical engineering. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting advanced research, analyzing data, publishing findings in high-impact journals, collaborating with cross-disciplinary teams, and contributing to technology transfer and industry-related projects. The role may also involve mentoring or supporting junior researchers and engaging in academic and industry-driven collaborations.

Qualifications

  • Strong background in Biomedical Engineering, including expertise in areas such as medical devices, signal processing &AI, or bioinformatics.
  • Skills in advanced research methodologies, data analysis, and scientific publishing.
  • Experience with programming languages, computational modeling, or simulation tools relevant to biomedical applications.
  • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary settings, interact with industry representatives, and contribute to technology transfer projects.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and scientific writing skills.
  • Doctorate (PhD) in Biomedical Engineering or a closely related field, with a track record of academic or research achievements.
  • Familiarity with European and international project standards is a plus.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken, is essential. Knowledge of Portuguese is advantageous.
