in Barcelona, Porto and Madrid (Hybrid), to develop and leverage the best e-commerce technology to create a one-stop-shop for our customers, where they can find and book the best travel options for their needs and experience amazing post-booking service in our best-rated mobile app.

The Role's Key Responsibilities and Tasks

As an eDOer, you will have clear objectives, great challenges and a clear overview of how your work contributes to the global company project and its customers. As a Java Senior Software Engineer in the Prime area, you:

  • Have meaningfu l experience being in a Senior Engineer role driving technical work for other engineers. You stay up-to-date on industry trends and understand how to apply them.
  • Provide technical guidance for complex initiatives. Deliver strategic technical improvements.
  • Improve code structure and architecture, taking care of testability and maintainability, and identifying opportunities for technical investments to help the team meet the objectives. Successfully deliver projects with high complexity, involving multiple stakeholders, including monitoring and mitigating timeline risks.
  • Effectively give and receive feedback, including code reviews, and architecture reviews, and mentoring other team members, coaching them to upgrade their skills and grow to the next level.
  • Communicate complex ideas to technical and business stakeholders, and establish alignment within the broader organization.
  • Constantly looking to expand your skills and skill sets through learning and increasing knowledge.

You will work in a fully agile organisation, using Kanban practices to deliver business value continuously. You will actively participate in team ceremonies and events, as well as the product definition and ideation processes, as part of a high-performing cross-functional team, working with other top engineers, product managers, architects, UX designers to design, build, operate and evolve the Prime domain of the microservice platform. You will receive mentorship and support to help you develop your career super fast.

  • Deep understanding of software engineering concepts such as OOP, functional programming, concurrency, data structures, design and architecture patterns, databases, APIs etc.;
  • Experience working with the entire software development cycle, including deploying to production and testing (both unit and integration), as well as Cloud and Continuous Delivery environments;
  • Strong data-driven capabilities, analytical skills, design pattern skills and creativity that will allow you to solve complex business and customer problems;
  • Ambition to be the best and provide resilient, high-performing, well-dimensioned solutions to complex problems;
  • Strong focus on quality, and a technical excellence mindset;
  • Excellent communication skills and an open mind to reach agreements for the benefit of the team and your stakeholders;
  • Ability to visually represent your solutions in standard diagrams that can be shared with both technical and non-technical audience;
  • Strong organisational skills. Ability to organise, prioritise and delegate tasks to overcome deadlines in an uncertain environment;
  • Fluent English level that will allow you to work in a multicultural environment and communicate at all levels;
  • A strong mindset for continuous learning and improvement, growth and innovation;
  • A team player attitude with a focus on knowledge sharing within a dynamic team;

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Applied AI Tools: Demonstrated comfort using practical AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, ChatGPT, or other AI-powered coding assistants.
  • Experimentation Mindset: Curiosity and eagerness to explore, experiment with, and integrate emerging AI-driven solutions into software development workflows.
  • AI-Enhanced Problem Solving: Ability to effectively leverage AI tools to debug code, streamline development processes, and enhance productivity.
  • Adaptability and Learning Agility: Enthusiastic about continuously learning and quickly adapting to new AI features and capabilities.
  • Collaboration with AI: Experience or interest in collaborating closely with AI tools as "pair programmers" to complement traditional software development practices.
