Assistant Cost Manager

About this opportunity

As a member of the cost management team, you will take part in service delivery for data centre construction project located in Sines, Portugal.

This role requires being on-site during the work week. No hybrid work applies.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist in Cost Managers the preparation of cost plans, cost-in-use studies.
• Participate in order of cost estimates and option studies.
• Take part in tender documentation and managing the tender process, including designing tender marking schemes
• Assist Cost Managers with the evaluation and reporting of tenders.
• Valuation of completed work and arranging for payments.
• Preparation and settlement of final accounts.
• Administration of construction contracts.
• Preparation of reports to customers.
• Remaining in the remit of your role.

You will develop knowledge and experience in the following:

• Quantification of construction works and activities.
• Cost estimating.
• Cost planning.
• Value engineering.
• Procurement.
• Tendering
• Post-contract cost control.
• Administration of different forms of construction contracts.

About The Candidate

Who we're looking for:

Qualifications

• Engineering, QS or Architecture

Experience, Knowledge and Key Skills

• High level of English and Portuguese.
• Clear and effective communication skills.
• Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
• Good organisation, problem solving and negotiating skills.
• Numeracy management skills.
• Sound ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Eligible to work in Portugal.
