1. Senior Consultant – Energy Innovation & Funding
About the role
As a Senior Consultant, you will assist clients in designing and presenting innovative energy and low-carbon technology projects for funding – in national as well as EU and international funding programmes. Technologies include Hydrogen, Energy Storage, CCUS, Renewables, and the decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. You will also take a proactive lead in business development, building and sustaining client relationships, and expanding Innovayt's presence in the energy innovation landscape.
Key responsibilities
Assist clients in shaping and presenting innovative technology/research projects for grant funding.
Identify and develop new clients within the energy sector, especially private industries.
Become a trusted advisor on grants, loans, equity, and other public funding.
Conduct market and technology research with both a practical and scientific mindset.
Collaborate closely with Innovayt's project management teams to secure funding and deliver results.
What we think you should have
4+ years of relevant experience as a grant consultant or Large Project professional, preferably within green energy, decarbonization, or related sectors.
Higher degree in a relevant area, preferably Engineering or Finance, ideally with specialization in Energy or Sustainability.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work extensively with diverse clients and partners.
Strong analytical capacity and experience with complex, research-related problem solving.
Excellent English communication abilities, both verbally and in writing.
2. Senior Grant Consultant – Science and Engineering
About the role
As a Senior Consultant, you will have a proactive role in preparing high-quality funding applications for innovative technology solutions and identifying relevant funding opportunities for clients. You will assist clients and mentor junior colleagues in designing and presenting research and innovation projects for funding – in national as well as EU and international funding programmes.
Key responsibilities
Assist clients in shaping and presenting innovative technology/research projects for grant funding.
Mentor and train less experienced consultants within selected funding programmes and technology areas
Collaborate closely with Innovayt's project management teams to secure funding and deliver results.
What we think you should have
3+ years of relevant experience as a grant consultant in technology development, science and engineering
PhD degree in natural science/engineering
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work extensively with diverse clients and partners.
Strong analytical capacity and experience with complex, research-related problem solving.
Excellent English communication abilities, both verbally and in writing.
3. Senior Finance Consultant – Energy Innovation & Funding
About the role
As a Senior Finance Consultant, you will leverage your financial expertise to support major R&D and demonstration projects in areas such as Hydrogen, Energy Storage, CCUS, Renewables, and decarbonization of energy-intensive industries. Together with Innovayt's Finance team, you will work extensively with EU funding instruments such as the Innovation Fund, CEF, and Horizon Europe, plus national instruments.
Key responsibilities
Develop comprehensive project budgets, financial projections, and assumptions aligned with grant programme requirements.
Advise clients on financial documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
Support clients in creating robust financial models assessing feasibility and funding needs.
Apply quantitative analytical techniques and economic modelling.
Collaborate closely with Innovayt's project management teams to secure funding and deliver results.
What we think you should have
4+ years of hands-on experience with large energy project finance, preferably including grant projects in a European setting. Experience with EU Innovation Fund is considered a plus.
MSc or PhD in Finance or related discipline.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work extensively with diverse clients and partners.
Strong analytical capacity and experience with complex, research-related problem solving.
Excellent English communication abilities, both verbally and in writing.
4. HR Manager / HR Coordinator (People & Culture)
About the role
We are looking for a seasoned HR professional - ideally from the consulting or service sector - with a relevant academic background in Management, Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or similar. You will coordinate recruitment, onboarding, HR compliance, and people development initiatives that reinforce our high-trust culture and ensure the wellbeing of our consultants across Portugal and the Nordics. You will work closely with partners, people leaders, and our Office Manager (who handles day-to-day HR administration).
Key responsibilities
Manage end-to-end recruitment and ensure a positive candidate and team experience.
Develop and refine clear and structured onboarding process for new hires.
Oversee employment contracts, labour-law compliance, HR documentation, and company policies.
Implement periodic check-ins and light pulse surveys to monitor workload, satisfaction, and wellbeing.
Coordinate the annual career and performance review cycle.
Track basic people metrics (retention, engagement, onboarding success) and share insights with management.
Collaborate with communications on employer branding and internal culture initiatives.
What you bring
Solid HR or People & Culture experience (ideally in consulting or professional services).
Academic degree in Management, HR, or related fields.
Ability to foster collaboration and engagement across teams.
Strong communication and facilitation skills, and comfortability in advising senior management.
Knowledge of HR compliance, employment law, and best practices in Portugal.
Fluency in English; Portuguese or a Nordic language is a plus.
Empathy and active listening skills - you understand people and act early to support them.
