Fellowship Director

I'm launching a highly selective, grant-backed fellowship for exceptional young people aged14–22, designed to help them realise their full potential in an *AI-accelerated world*.The fellowship exists because traditional education systems are optimised forcredentials, compliance, and producing employees—while the world is rapidly moving toward one where *agency, creativity, and entrepreneurship*matter far more. We believe talented young people should be treated ascreators in training, not students in a factory system. This fellowship is an attempt to fix that — properly. We're not optimising for test scores or conventional achievement. We're looking for unusualcuriosity, intelligence, and obsession—and then building an environment that turns raw potential into real-world capability: *agency, judgment, and the ability to build*.Fellows will receive financial support, close personal mentorship, and an AI-native, project-driven education focused on mindset, entrepreneurship, and programming. The fellowship is funded by me (Jose Maria Macedo), an entrepreneur and investor, with runway forat least a decade. Think: *patient capital, ambitious goals, and freedom to experiment*.If we find something that works, we scale it. If we find something that doesn't, we kill it quickly and move on.Job Title:Fellowship Director (Founding Program Lead):This person owns the fellowship end-to-end and sets the bar for everything: selection quality, program design, mentor network, and culture.Job Description:• Designing the program from scratch (curriculum spine, weekly cadence, rituals, accountability, reviews)• Owning selection standards and building a process that finds "spiky" talent (agency > credentials)• Running cohorts and ensuring fellows consistentlyship real work• Recruiting/managing mentors and matching them to fellows• Building the operating system: playbooks, templates, tooling, and a scalable model• Clear success metrics (project output, retention, mentor quality, alumni outcomes)Ideal profile:a high-agency builder/educator with entrepreneurial energy; accelerator/incubator or selective community experience is a plus.Location:Preference is Lisbon based, will also consider remote.Salary:Available on DM.
