As an
SEO & AI Search Specialist for a leading Portuguese bank
, you'll be responsible for optimizing digital visibility, leveraging generative AI for content discovery, and driving organic growth through intelligent, data-backed strategies. You'll work closely with marketing, analytics, and technology teams to ensure the brand's digital footprint is future-ready across traditional search engines and emerging AI ecosystems (such as Google SGE, Perplexity, ChatGPT, and others).

This is a
hybrid position based in Lisbon
, with
regular in-office days
to collaborate with the bank's digital and marketing teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive SEO and AI Search strategies across all digital channels.
• Identify and leverage opportunities in generative search (SGE, ChatGPT, Perplexity, etc.) to enhance visibility for the bank's digital platforms.
• Conduct keyword, topic, and intent research tailored to the financial services sector and AI search contexts.
• Apply data-driven thinking to solve complex SEO challenges and improve content discoverability in AI-powered environments.
• Create high-quality, semantically rich content that aligns with both search engine and AI retrieval models.
• Manage and execute SEO projects from inception to delivery, including AI search experimentation and optimization.
• Collaborate closely with marketing, content, data, and development teams within the bank's digital ecosystem to ensure AI-readiness.

Requirements

• Minimum of
  3 years of proven experience in SEO
  .
• Native Portuguese (Portugal – PT-PT)
• Advanced English level (C1 or C2).
• Strong understanding of search engine algorithms, ranking methods, and AI retrieval systems.
• Familiarity with
  AI search technologies
  and emerging tools (e.g., Google SGE, ChatGPT Browse, Perplexity, Bing Copilot).
• Experience using industry tools such as Google Analytics, Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, and Screaming Frog.
• Knowledge of
  semantic SEO
  , structured data, and entity-based optimization for AI and LLM contexts.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as they relate to SEO.
• Analytical mindset, with the ability to interpret KPIs and generate actionable insights.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in or interest in the
  banking, fintech, or financial services sector
  is a strong plus.

Compensation

This position offers a competitive salary with adjustments based on your experience and expertise. You'll have a permanent contract and the opportunity to work on one of the most prestigious digital transformation projects in the Portuguese banking industry.
