We are seeking a Group Financial Reporting Expert to join our dynamic team. As a leading eCommerce platform across the African market, we are looking for an individual who can manage and enhance our financial reporting processes while collaborating with key stakeholders across our diverse operations. This role is a unique opportunity to shape the financial narrative of a major eCommerce player in Africa.

What you will be doing

• Financial Reporting Excellence:

• Play a pivotal role in the drafting group for all public filings, ensuring our quarterly and annual reports meet the highest standards of accuracy, transparency, and compliance.

• Oversee the preparation and management of the Group's Annual Report, highlighting our financial performance and strategic initiatives.
• Manage the production of monthly financial statements and performance reviews for internal release to the Board, providing insightful analysis and recommendations.

• Ensure the integrity and compliance of financial reporting processes with relevant standards and regulations.

• Policy and Guidance Development:

• Develop and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and process guidelines in line with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).

• Create and update centralized valuation models and accounting frameworks for specific IFRS standards, such as IFRS 15 and IFRS 9.

• Audit Support and Collaboration:

• Provide expert assistance during audit processes, ensuring smooth interactions with external auditors.

• Document and implement changes to internal control requirements related to system changes and organizational changes.
• Collaborate on cross-functional projects and initiatives, leveraging your financial expertise to drive organizational success.

What we are looking for

• An academic degree in Management, Finance, Audit, Accounting, or a related field.
• Approximately 10 years of professional experience in financial management or accounting roles.
• Extensive knowledge and practical application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Demonstrated ability to maintain meticulous attention to detail in complex financial environments.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with particular expertise in Excel for financial modelling and analysis.
• Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The ideal candidate will bring a robust combination of academic foundation, substantial industry experience, and technical proficiency to this role. Your expertise in IFRS and strong analytical skills will be crucial in navigating the complexities of our financial landscape. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional who can effectively leverage technology to streamline financial processes and communicate complex financial information clearly across all levels of the organization.
