Role Summary

We are seeking a
Senior Platform Engineer
to design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms, leveraging
Backstage
and modern
DevOps practices
. This role focuses on enabling
developer productivity
and
operational excellence
through automation, scalable platform solutions, and reliability-driven engineering.

The position is
hybrid
, requiring
3 days per week on-site with the client in Lisbon
, and operates within the
Insurance sector
.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and enhance
    internal developer platforms
    using
    Backstage
    and related frameworks.
  • Implement and maintain
    CI/CD pipelines
    and
    GitOps workflows
    to support efficient and reliable deployments.
  • Integrate
    container orchestration solutions
    (
    Kubernetes, Docker
    ) into the platform architecture.
  • Collaborate closely with
    product teams
    to deliver
    secure, reliable, and scalable platforms
    .
  • Drive
    automation strategies
    and apply
    SRE principles
    to improve service reliability.
  • Ensure
    observability
    and
    security
    are embedded into platform design and operations.

Required Technical Skills

  • Strong experience with
    Backstage

    platform engineering tools

  • Proficiency in
    Kubernetes

    Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

    Terraform

  • Solid understanding of
    CI/CD methodologies

    modern software delivery pipelines

  • Familiarity with
