Job Description

As part of this long tradition of innovation, Continental is also rapidly expanding its digital capabilities. Our global Cloud Services department plays a key role in this transformation.

The department is organized into two teams: Cloud Infrastructure and Cloud Practice.

Cloud Infrastructure Team:

In a nutshell, responsible for building and operating the core foundation of Continental's cloud environments, including:

1. Designing and maintaining a scalable, secure cloud landing zone—the backbone of Continental's cloud ecosystem;
2. Developing and supporting secure cloud-based infrastructure for containerized applications, including compute, storage, backup, and orchestration services (container management and orchestration).

Cloud Practice Team (your future team):

This team drives cloud transformation across Continental, covering a broad set of domains:

1. Leading cloud transformation initiatives by identifying and applying best-in-class cloud technologies (considering governance, cybersecurity, commercial, architectural, strategic and cost aspects);
2. Managing cloud account lifecycles across multiple hyperscale's while ensuring compliance with security standards and FinOps practices;
3. Growing and enabling Continental's cloud community through engagement, knowledge sharing, and training;
4. Supporting internal customer projects with defining cloud architectures and offering development and engineering expertise;
5. Designing and implementing cloud-based solutions, including MVPs and proofs of concept;
6. Developing reusable components and building blocks to accelerate cloud adoption across the organization;
7. Depending on ongoing initiatives, you will contribute to or lead activities in the above areas.

Your responsibilities may include technical engineering and development work with internal customers, serving as a liaison with Microsoft Azure, driving community activities such as workshops and Cloud Community Days, or leading projects within the cloud environment.

Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other related field;
• 2+ years of professional software development experience, showcased by a portfolio of previous work;
• Solid foundational knowledge of core Azure services (e.g., Virtual Machines, Storage, IAM, AKS) with hands‑on experience;
• Practical knowledge of IaaS/PaaS concepts and Azure-based architecture;
• Familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (e.g., Terraform, ARM templates);
• Proficiency with at least one scripting language (e.g., PowerShell, Python, TypeScript);
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a team-oriented attitude;
• Professional working proficiency in English (written and verbal).

Additional Information

Qualifications You May Bring (or Will Develop with us):

1. Understanding multi-cloud and hybrid setups;

2. Familiarity with Agile methodologies;

3. Knowledge of Azure architecture best practices and design patterns for containerized workloads, data solutions, and enterprise applications;

4. Experience in customer-centric solutions consulting and project management;

5. Foundational knowledge of cloud security principles, specifically Azure security services such as Microsoft Defender for Cloud, etc..
