Internship at Novo Nordisk

Your new role

During this internship, you will support the Legal & Compliance department in the implementation of agile and correct procedures in the data privacy and AI Ethics setting, guiding our Portuguese team on how to ensure that we meet compliance requirements in projects and by finding new legal solutions regarding data privacy, AI and cybersecurity.

• Maintain overview of data processing activities and risk assessments for local organization, ensuring compliance with legislation.
• Support response to data breaches and data subject requests
• Provide advice and day-to-day operational guidance on personal data protection and AI ethics compliance
• Cultivate compliance mindset and awareness within the organization through appropriate training and communication
• Support L&C Team in the implementation of NIS2 Directive
• Support L&C Team in the regular training on AI Ethics and data privacy to local business

Your skills & qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a Law degree and currently pursuing a masters' degree or LLM that allows to enrol in a curricular internship. Other requirements:

• Availability for a 6-month full-time internship, based in Lisbon.

• Interest in corporate law and compliance, especially in Data Privacy and AI compliance.

• Ideally, GDPR, AI Act and related legislation knowledge

• Confident with IT systems, including Microsoft and others
• Fluent in written and spoken English; Portuguese is a plus

The Legal & Compliance team is responsible for ensuring that we never compromise on ethics. Our responsibilities include fostering and strengthening a culture of ethics, compliance, and accountability, managing risks and providing clear guidance on external and internal requirements, delivering tools and processes to minimize complexity and optimize the business to ultimately safeguard Novo Nordisk and our license to operate to the benefit of our patients.
