Support & Automation Engineer
Responsibilities

  • L1/L2 technical support.
  • Identify issues, perform root cause analysis and document findings.
  • Translate issues into automation opportunities.
  • Automate scripts, functions and workflows.
  • Log inspection, network checks and operational tasks.
  • Interact with cross-functional teams.

Skills

  • Degree in Informatics Engineering, Computer Science or similar areas.
  • 1–3 years of experience in support, NOC operations, or automation engineering.
  • Experience in L1/L2 technical support, ideally within a telecommunications or network operations environment.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify issues, perform root cause analysis, and document findings.
  • Familiarity with incident, problem and change management processes (ITIL concepts considered a plus).
  • Ability to identify recurring issues and translate them into automation opportunities.
  • Hands-on experience with JavaScript and/or Java, sufficient to build or adapt automation scripts, functions, or workflows.
  • Experience with automation frameworks, task schedulers, or scripting platforms (experience with JSP-based systems is a plus).
  • Working knowledge of Linux/Unix commands for log inspection, basic networking checks, and operational tasks.
  • Ability to navigate servers, manage files, interpret logs, and run basic diagnostics.
  • Knowledge of telco operational environments (OSS/BSS, NOC, network monitoring, mediation platforms, provisioning systems, etc.).
  • Familiarity with protocols such as HTTP/S, TCP/IP, SOAP/REST APIs, or standard telecom signaling (optional but valued).
  • Understanding of operational KPIs, SLAs, ticketing systems, and systems used in telco network operations.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to deconstruct technical issues, find patterns, and design practical automation or corrective actions.
  • Comfortable interacting with cross-functional teams, documenting incidents clearly, and producing concise technical notes.
  • Willingness to challenge recurring issues, propose improvements, and drive automation initiatives rather than only reacting.
  • Works effectively within a support/NOC team and can coordinate escalation or handover when needed.
  • Capable of learning internal tools and proprietary frameworks quickly (including JSP-based cockpit automation frameworks).
  • Fluent in English - written and spoken

Nice to Have

  • Experience with monitoring tools.
  • Exposure to CI/CD, Git repositories, or basic DevOps workflows.
  • Experience with databases (running queries, basic SQL knowledge).
