Data Engineer (Azure/Snowflake) - Hybrid Lisbon (1-2 days/week office)

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY Join one of Europe's largest parcel and logistics groups, operating in around 40 countries with more than 120 hubs and 1,600+ depots, and moving millions of parcels every day. The Group is centrally driving its AI agenda through a multi-pillar model: domain-specific AI Hubs, a central AI engineering pool, and an Agentic AI Platform that will progressively let each country build and automate its own business processes.

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will build the data foundation that makes this possible. You'll turn operational, customer, parcel and business data into reliable, governed and scalable pipelines that AI teams and agentic workflows can turn into measurable business impact.

PROJECT & CONTEXT

Design, build and operate enterprise-grade ETL/ELT pipelines for AI, analytics, reporting and agentic workflow use cases

Create clean, documented, reusable data products from operational, customer, logistics, sales and other sources

Implement data quality checks, monitoring, lineage, metadata and reliability patterns for production-ready datasets

Support integrations between Azure-based AI services, Snowflake, APIs, file-based sources and selected AWS data services

Translate use case requirements from business and AI teams into data models, pipelines and serving layers

Onboard new data sources with local IT and data owners, respecting data protection, access control and governance requirements

Work in an international setting alongside data scientists, AI engineers, cloud engineers, business process owners and country IT teams

Work model: hybrid, with offices in the Venda do Pinheiro area (Mafra/Malveira, Greater Lisbon). Initially 1-2 days per week on-site, with the possibility of reducing to 1-2 times per month. Full remote is not available.
