Join a leading Luxembourg services firm expanding to Porto as a Fund Accounting ManagerYour new Company:Join one of Luxembourg's leading professional services firms as it expands into Portugal's Porto region with a brand‐new OfficeThe company is recognized for delivering high‐quality legal, tax, regulatory consulting and operational services to financial institutions, corporates, and investors, offering end‐to‐end support across the full business lifecycle.This expansion into Portugal represents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, multicultural environment that blends international exposure with local growth, offering room to develop your skills and impact clients worldwideYour new Role:As a Fund Accounting Manager, your role will encompass all facets of the production & and delivery, people and financial management oversight for our portfolio of Private Equity (PE) and Real Estate (RE) clients.This is a challenging and rewarding role which provides exposure to all elements of a PERE fund's accounting processes and life cycle. Working with other members of the team and supervising them and having cross border collaboration with the team in Luxembourg ensuring proper hand-offs for seamless delivery. You will occasionally be required to travel to Luxembourg and host on-site visit of your colleagues.Your responsabilities will include:Manage processes and activities through team of Accountants to achieve expected service, solution or product outcomes for team and/or Fund Administrative Services (FAS) department of accountability;Accountable for ensuring all work is completed timely, accurately and according to procedures;Make decisions regarding processes/systems issues, utilizing depth of knowledge/technical expertise to provide guidance and direction to teams and escalating issues;Manage communication with appropriate stakeholder;Drive team to identify and implement continuous improvements;Prioritize and align work to strategic priorities;Proactively identify, evaluate and reduce operational risk, and assess controls, utilizing metrics and exceptions reporting, to ensure FAS department productivity and quality of output. Evaluates risk events and implement corrective actions for control deficiencies;Contribute to improving control environment;Actively involved in the recruitment process for dedicated teams and responsible for the integration of new team membersIdentify, coach and develop talent in the team to meet and/or exceed performance expectations;Understand current and forecast future work volumes and staffing needs required to meet service objectives;Will assist the senior leaders in driving forward key initiatives for talent development;Manage assigned budget for team within established guidelines;Proactively adjust financial plan and business goals in response to changing business and economic environment and ensures business goals are met within established financial targets;Understand and communicates business/financial climate and decisions/prioritization to team. What you will need to be successful:Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience, with a Master's Degree considered an advantage;Professional certifications such as CPA, CIMA, CA or ACCA are strongly preferred;A minimum of 4 years of management experience, either through direct leadership of employees or by holding a senior-level role;Experience in accounting for Private Equity or Real Estate funds is an advantage;Experience in Transfer Agency activities, including equalization, capital calls/distributions, investor register management and transfers, is also an asset;Strong business management knowledge, with the ability to implement processes, products or services, and the technical expertise to apply functional and process knowledge to diverse issues;Solid understanding of accounting standards such as IFRS, LUXGAAP and/or USGAAP;Knowledge of regulatory requirements for Alternative Funds, including RAIF structures; familiarity with AIFM regulation is an added advantage;Fluent English, both written and spoken;Proficiency in MS Office, particularly strong knowledge of Excel.What the company can offer you:Competitive benefits package;Hybrid work;Learning & Development opportunities;Opportunity to join a dynamic, multicultural environment, growing its business in Portugal.
