YOUR DAY TO DAY The Sr Manager, AI Software Engineering is responsible for the end‐to‐end technical delivery, engineering excellence, and platform reliability of the AI Factory. The role sets the technical direction across all engineering domains, ensures high‐quality and secure‐by‐design development, builds and mentors high‐performing engineering teams, and oversees Run & Support operations through Site Reliability Engineering practices. This position ensures that the AI Factory delivers robust, scalable, reusable, and reliable AI capabilities that accelerate value creation across PMI.

Main Responsibilities

Technical Delivery & Engineering Excellence

Lead end‐to‐end technical delivery (frontend, DevOps, platforms), enforcing high‐quality, secure‐by‐design, and reusable engineering.

Maintain coding standards, architectural principles, and technical patterns that ensure scalable, maintainable solutions.

Platform Reliability & Site Reliability Engineering

Own Run & Support for engineering workloads; drive SRE practices (SLOs/SLIs, observability, incident response, error budgets).

Continuously improve reliability, performance, and resiliency through disciplined operations and monitoring.

Developer Experience, Tooling & Automation

Advance CI/CD, environment management, test integration, and automation that accelerate delivery while improving consistency.

Standardize dev tooling and workflows to reduce friction and raise engineering velocity across DevOps and Frontend.

Team Leadership & Culture

Lead DevOps and Frontend teams; set clear expectations, coach engineers, and build a high‐performance, collaborative culture.

Promote documentation, knowledge sharing, and growth paths; ensure staffing and skills meet pipeline demands.

Hands‐On Leadership & AI‐for‐Coding

Be hands‐on when needed: pair‐program, review code, remove blockers; role‐model AI‐assisted coding (Copilot, test generation, static analysis, agentic audits).

Introduce AI agents for secure code review, dependency risk checks, performance profiling, and automated SDLC guardrails.

Cross‐Functional Alignment

Collaborate with Architecture, QA/RAI, Security, Product, and Factory Ops to ensure designs meet policy, quality, and operability.

Translate product requirements into sound technical strategies aligned with Ai Factory standards and PMI AI Policy.

Team Leadership & Culture (AI Factory Leadership)

Serve as an active member of the AI Factory leadership team; build a high‐performance, cross‐ETF culture that collaborates beyond team boundaries.

Coach Front/Back end engineers; promote documentation discipline, knowledge sharing, and continuous upskilling.
