If you want to be part of the new decade on energy revolution, at Smart Energy LAB you will have the opportunity to have a real impact by creating new products and services that will contribute to energy transition, focusing on the 3Ds (Decarbonization, Decentralization and Digitalization).Smart Energy LAB is a Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) held by EDP Comercial, Accenture, Instituto Superior Técnico, Faculty of Sciences of Lisbon, University of Coimbra, INESCTEC and INESC ID.Smart Energy Lab has a unique combination of science, technology and industry in the energy sector, focused on creating new products and services for the downstream of the energy value chain."We are a green dream factory that will make tomorrow possible, improving life for everyone with new energy solutions through smart collaboration."In order to create the future, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer.We are looking for an Electrical Engineer, that will perform tasks such: · Participate in and improve installation workflows, including planning, field support, and documentation.· Follow and adapt standard procedures for commissioning and verification of energy systems.· Conduct site surveys and support the installation processes.· Prepare and review technical documentation.· Guide and mentor junior engineers or technicians.· Delegate tasks, support troubleshooting, and promote good engineering practices within the team.· Communicate effectively with field teams, internal stakeholders, and occasional clients.What we are looking for:· Innovation mindset and a proactive, hands-on approach.· Strong sense of ownership and accountability.· Desire to work in a respectful, transparent, and collaborative environment.· Alignment with our mission and values.· Hands-on experience in energy systems, installations, or IoT-based projects (a plus).· Basic understanding of firmware or embedded systems (a plus).Specific Skills Required· Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.· 3+ years of relevant experience in electrical or energy systems.· Experience with electrical panels, hardware integration, and on-site installations.· Familiarity with energy management systems and IoT architectures (e.g., Modbus, MQTT).· Understanding of site surveys, commissioning, and standard field procedures.· Ability to work with firmware or embedded systems (a bonus, not mandatory).· Proven ability to mentor and guide junior team members.· Skilled in delegating, supporting team troubleshooting, and upholding high engineering standards.· Fluent English.Location: Lisbon, PortugalEmployees need to have Portuguese tax residency, and be located in Lisbon Region.Position sponsored by Portuguese R&D Funding Project: 12 months contract, with possibility to renew to permanent contract after the first contracting period.
