About the role

Numbers tell the story of how a factory really runs. If you can read that story in a bill of materials, a variance report or an absorption analysis, and turn it into decisions the operations teams can actually use, this one is for you. We are creating a new Plant Controller role to own the cost and profitability picture across three of our European manufacturing sites. Based in Portugal, you will be the single point of clarity on what things cost, where margin is won or lost, and what the shop floor should do about it.

What you will do:

You will sit where finance meets the factory floor. Working from Porto and staying close to three European production sites, you will: Own product costing and keep cost data accurate as products and processes evolve Analyse cost variances and explain what is driving them Monitor production performance and cost absorption Track profitability across products and sites Support monthly closing, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting Maintain cost structures in SAP and work with the master data/SAP/Production team Provide production and management teams with clear insight to support decisions What you bring: 3 to 5 years in finance controlling within a manufacturing environment is preferred.

Experience in other product sectors such as FMCG or food is very welcome Solid SAP knowledge across CO, FI and PP. We run on S/4 HANA, so strong ECC experience is absolutely fine Confidence with product costing, standard costing and variance analysis Advanced Excel and strong financial analysis skills A degree in Finance, Accounting, Controlling or Business Administration English plus German or Dutch, as you will liaise across our sites Comfortable travelling to the sites a few days each month Why this role: Real ownership.

It is newly created, so you shape how manufacturing controlling works across the sites rather than inheriting someone else's model Visible impact. Your analysis goes straight to production and management teams and feeds live decisions Genuine scope. Three sites, multiple products, one clear owner
