Head of Accounting

Department: FinanceReports to: Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)Type: Full-Time / PermanentAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Head of Accounting & Tax to lead the company's financial reporting, accounting operations, and tax strategy. This role is critical in ensuring compliance, accuracy, and efficiency across all financial processes in a dynamic, fast-paced tech environment.The ideal candidate combines strong technical accounting and tax knowledge with hands-on experience in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), the ability to lead teams, and a high degree of rigor in process optimization. Experience in a Big Four firm is required to ensure strong technical foundations and exposure to best practices.Key Responsibilities1. Accounting LeadershipOversee accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll accounting, revenue recognition, and fixed assets.Ensure timely and accurate monthly and annual closings.Maintain and enforce robust accounting policies and internal controls.Lead the audit process with external auditors and manage documentation and compliance workflows.2. Tax ManagementCorporate, indirect, and employee tax compliance across all relevant jurisdictions.Preparation and filing of tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local tax laws.Manage tax planning strategies and assess risks and opportunities.Interact with tax authorities and external advisors on audits, clarifications, and rulings.3. Budgeting & PlanningLead the preparation, coordination, and consolidation of the annual budget.Monitor budget execution and provide periodic variance analysis.Partner with FP&A and business units to support forecasting, scenario analyses, and long-term planning.Ensure data integrity and alignment between actuals and budget across functions.4. Systems & Process OptimizationServe as the internal expert for Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central (BC), ensuring best-practice usage across modules.Lead process improvement initiatives, automation efforts, and integration projects within BC and related systems.Support data governance and ensure high-quality financial information for reporting and analysis.5. Team Leadership & Cross-Functional CollaborationLead, mentor, and develop the accounting and tax team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.Work closely with FP&A, Operations, Legal, HR, and Product teams to support business growth and strategic initiatives.Provide financial insight and technical expertise to support decision-making and corporate development activities.RequirementsTechnical QualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's degree or professional certification (CPA, CA, ROC, CTA, or equivalent) preferred.Minimum 3–4 years of experience in a Big Four firm (audit and/or tax).8+ years of total experience in accounting and tax, preferably in tech, SaaS, or high-growth environments.In-depth knowledge of local accounting standards and tax frameworks.Strong experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, including configuration, process mapping, and workflow optimization.Skills & CompetenciesStrong leadership and team management capabilities.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.High attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities.Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, scaling organization.Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders at all levels.What We OfferCompetitive compensation packagePerformance-based bonusHealth benefitsHybrid or flexible working arrangementsOpportunity to shape the financial backbone of a growing tech company
