This position will be responsible for developing new client relationships and managing existing clients with U.S.-based private pensions and retirement accounts.Cross Border Wealth is a U.S.-based global investment advisory firm specializing in cross-border financial planning and investment management for U.S.-connected individuals living abroad. Headquartered in New York, with offices across the United States and Asia, we help globally mobile clients navigate the complexities of investing, tax planning, and wealth management across jurisdictions.As part of our continued international expansion, we are seeking an International Investment Advisor | Financial Advisor for our soon-to-open Lisbon, Portugal office.The International Investment Advisor | Financial Advisor will be responsible for developing new client relationships and managing existing clients with U.S.-based private pensions and retirement accounts. This is a client-facing, business development–oriented advisory role that combines financial planning, investment advice, and consultative sales.This position is ideal for a seasoned financial professional who is comfortable engaging clients remotely, explaining complex cross-border structures, and building long-term relationships in a highly specialized, underserved market.The firm provides extensive training, qualified leads, and full administrative support, allowing the advisor to focus on client relationships and revenue growth. International applications are welcome.Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Client EngagementEngage prospective clients via phone, Teams, email, and digital platformsConduct meetings and assess clients' financial and retirement planning needsBuild and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clientsDevelop referral relationships and long-term client partnershipsAdvisory & PlanningAnalyze and review clients' existing financial positions and retirement accountsExplain U.S. retirement plans, rollover options, and cross-border considerations clearly and accuratelyRecommend compliant, relevant cross-border investment and planning solutionsMaintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant U.S. and international regulationsClient Onboarding & ServicingWork closely with the administrative and operations teams to onboard new clientsSupport ongoing client servicing and relationship managementEnsure a high level of professionalism, responsiveness, and client satisfactionSkills and RequirementsRequiredMinimum 10 years of client-facing and sales experience in financial servicesStrong background in financial planning, investment sales, or advisory servicesExcellent phone and virtual communication skillsHigh ethical standards and strong attention to detailSelf-starter with strong time management and organizational skillsProficiency with CRM systems (HubSpot or similar)Professional-level English fluencyPreferredSeries 65 license (or ability to obtain)CFP or CHFC designationExperience with U.S. retirement plans (401(k), IRA, pensions, rollovers)International or cross-border advisory experienceExisting transferable book of business (not required, but a plus)BenefitsThis is a business development–oriented advisory role with significant income potential:Base salaryPerformance-based bonusesRevenue participationFirst–second year total compensation target: USD $75,000 to $200,000Significant annual upside as client base growsAdditional revenue opportunities for advisors bringing a transferable bookBenefits includeHealth insurancePaid leaves and holidaysCareer advancement opportunitiesSchedule and Work SetupMonday to FridayOffice-based
