Backend Engineer (.NET) Location: Lisbon / OeirasWe are partnering with a well-established SaaS company in Lisbon that delivers enterprise-grade fleet management software to rental, leasing and mobility organizations worldwide. The company is backed by solid investment and is currently undergoing a major transformation project, modernizing its technology stack, architecture and ways of working. This timing offers a rare combination of product stability and an opportunity to help shape the future technical roadmap.The product is used globally by organizations of all sizes, from regional operators to international market leaders. The platform is designed to be scalable, secure and configurable, with a technology stack strongly centered around Microsoft technologies.Your roleAs a Backend Engineer, you will work on the development and maintenance of core backend services, web applications and APIs that are business-critical and operate at scale.Key responsibilitiesDevelop and maintain backend services and REST APIs using ASP.NET Core Web API targeting .NET 9.0Work within a Vertical Slice Architecture for modular, enterprise-oriented functionalityIntegrate multiple product modules and external libraries (security, validation, document processing, etc.)Implement data access using Repository patterns with DapperParticipate in code reviews and maintain high standards of code quality and maintainabilityApply secure coding practices and follow internal development guidelinesDeliver software through CI/CD pipelines via GitHub Actions, hosted on AzureCollaborate closely within a Scrum team and contribute to the ongoing SaaS transformationRequiredMinimum 3 years of professional backend development experienceStrong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsExperience with .NET Core (version 5 or higher) using C#Solid experience building and consuming RESTful APIsExperience with dependency injectionStrong knowledge of relational databases and SQLExperience using Git for version controlFamiliarity with Scrum or other agile methodologiesFluency in EnglishAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively in a teamNice to haveExperience with Domain Driven Design (DDD)Knowledge of HTTP / HTTPS protocols and messaging conceptsExperience with Azure DevOpsUnderstanding of SOLID principlesExperience setting up or working with CI/CD pipelinesExperience with Dapper and/or Entity FrameworkWhat's offeredHealth insurance for you and your children under 18 (after 3 months)Gym membership (after 3 months)Flexible benefits via Coverflex cardExtra holiday on your birthday if it falls on a working dayAdditional holiday for every 5 years of employmentVolunteering / charity allowance of 2 days per yearFree coffee, fresh fruit and monthly team lunchesModern office environment in Lisbon / OeirasThis is an opportunity to join a product-led, globally active SaaS company at a pivotal moment in its evolution, combining long-term stability with the technical challenge and impact of a large-scale transformation project.
