Ruby on Rails Developer | Remote, PortugalWe're partnering with an education organisation that is rethinking how learning is delivered, with a focus on flexibility for the student.
They need a developer to join their technology team and improve the platforms that students, partners and staff rely on every day.

Location:
Candidates must live in Portugal and have the right to work here without sponsorship.
The roleYou'll be responsible for building and improving internal and learner-facing web applications.
Day to day, you will:Build and maintain Rails applications, with interactive front-end features in Stimulus.
JsCreate and support REST APIs and integrations between systemsManage and extend the organisation's Moodle LMSConnect internal tools with Microsoft 365, including TeamsWork in a Docker, PostgreSQL and GitHub environment with CI/CD pipelinesSpot weaknesses in existing systems and propose practical, scalable fixesCollaborate with non-technical colleagues to turn their needs into working solutionsWhat you bringResident in Portugal with full work authorisation2+ years building web applications professionally, including hands-on RailsFront-end experience with Stimulus.
Js or a comparable JS frameworkA track record with REST APIs and system integrationsComfort with Git/GitHub and team-based developmentSome exposure to Docker or similar containerised setupsSound knowledge of testing, debugging, architecture and good engineering practiceAnalytical, self-directed, and able to juggle prioritiesFluent professional English, written and spokenNice to haveMoodle administration, customisation or developmentMicrosoft 365 / Teams integration experienceCI/CD and deployment know-howBackground in EdTech, learning platforms or SaaSExperience improving long-running systems as well as building new featuresYou don't need to tick every box.
Strong fundamentals, curiosity and problem-solving matter more than a perfect stack match.
