Finance Controller. Lisbon

As Finance Controller you would have a dual role: overseeing the correctness of the transactional part of finance of the Portuguese sales subsidiary as well as analysing the performance of Spanish and Portuguese entities.
You would join a small Finance team and report to the Iberian Business Support in Madrid.

What will you do?
Oversee day to day financial operations as well as the development and implementation of effective and efficient Finance and administration policies and procedures throughout the organization.
Oversee and manage transaction accounting for the subsidiary by working closely with our Shared Service Centre in Poland & external Certified Accountant to secure accurate reporting.
Prepare in depth analysis of the performance and serve as a sparring partner for the local management teams supporting strategic decision making.
Be accountable and responsible for the preparation and management of external and internal financial reporting, summaries, local accounting practices, and foster a "no surprises" culture.
Be part of the Business Support Team that is responsible for support in all financial matters enabling business performance.
Be responsible for ensuring compliance with all corporate financial guidelines and policies.
Support relationships with local banking institutions, legal advisors, public institutions, corporate insurance providers, external auditors and other local partners.
Analyse new laws, regulations and trends together with externalized Certified Accountant to identify potential impact on company goals and objectives.
Travel to Madrid every two months for the business meetings (2-3 days).

Must be able to successfully lead multiple projects and manage deadlines

Education and Experience:
Minimum 2 years of experience in roles within the Finance Controlling area in Sales or Production environment
University degree/Business School degree
Process improvement capabilities
Excellent knowledge of English and Portuguese
Proficiency in Excel
Experience with Power BI would be an advantage
Spanish is preferred but not essential
