Librarian Assistant

Librarian Assistant We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Librarian Assistant to join our library team in Lisbon.
As a Librarian Assistant, you will assist the librarian with various tasks including cataloging, shelving, and maintaining library materials.
This is an urgent role with a salary of $** per month without accommodation.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the librarian with cataloging new library materials
Shelve and organize books according to the library's classification system
Help patrons locate books and other materials
Check books in and out using the library's computer system
Maintain the appearance of the library by keeping shelves tidy and neat
Process new library card applications and issue cards to patrons
Create displays to promote new or popular books and events
Assist with basic reference questions and refer more complex inquiries to the librarian
Help troubleshoot any technical issues with computers or printers in the library
Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor's degreein Library Science preferred
Previous experience working in a library or similar environment is preferred but not required
Familiarity with basic cataloging principles and classification systems (such as Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress)
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patrons of all ages and backgrounds
Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, internet research, and using online databases
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Working Conditions This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week.
The schedule may include evenings and weekends.

Location This position is based in Lisbon, Portugal.
