We are looking for an experienced and hands on QHSE Manager to establish and lead BAaseyard's Quality, Health, Safety & Environment function in Braga, Portugal, building a scalable management system capable of supporting multiple high-tech products, customers, and production programmes.
What you will do
- Build and lead the integrated QHSE management system.
- Lead certification for ISO **, ISO *, ISO * and AQAP.
- Set up procedures, traceability, NCR, CAPA and audit processes.
- Build quality controls into production, NPI and supply chain.
- Qualify and audit suppliers and manage incoming quality.
- Run risk assessments, incident investigations and environmental monitoring.
- Support CE conformity, export control and defence compliance.
- Track QHSE KPIs, deliver training and build a strong quality and safety culture.
Who you will work with
- Executive Management: set the QHSE strategy and certification roadmap.
- Production, Engineering and NPI: embed quality and safety from design to serial production.
- Supply Chain and Facilities: manage supplier quality, workplace safety and environmental compliance.
- Business Development and external bodies: support customer audits, certification bodies and authorities.
What you bring
- A degree in Engineering, Quality, Health and Safety or a related field.
- Proven QHSE or quality management experience in complex manufacturing.
- Strong practical knowledge of ISO , plus ISO * and ISO *.
- Audit experience and a strong grasp of NCR, CAPA and root cause analysis.
- Strong leadership and a hands on approach to building systems from the ground up.
- Good English and Portuguese communication skills
Nice to have
- Defence, aerospace or dual use experience, including AQAP or AS**.
- Experience certifying a new manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of CE conformity and export control.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification.
