On behalf of our client VAMED+WWH, a market leader in healthcare infrastructure and complex international projects, we are looking for an experienced Construction Manager / Site Manager (m/f/d) to oversee healthcare construction projects in Angola. Project

location:
Angola – mandatory on-site assignments lasting several consecutive weeks
Languages: Fluent English and Portuguese are mandatory
The successful candidate will coordinate on-site construction activities, manage contractors and ensure that works are delivered in accordance with project schedules, quality standards and safety requirements. The role requires extensive international travel and regular stays in Angola lasting several consecutive weeks at a time.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and coordinate daily construction activities on site, ensuring compliance with project specifications, schedules and quality requirements Supervise contractors and subcontractors and coordinate interfaces between construction, technical installations and other project disciplines Monitor construction progress, identify delays and implement corrective measures in cooperation with the project team Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety and environmental requirements on site Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants and local project stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues Review completed works, document defects and oversee corrective actions, inspections and handover activities Assess variations and additional works in close cooperation with the commercial project management team Provide regular progress reports and maintain close coordination with the headquarters in Hamburg Candidate Profile
Degree in civil engineering, construction management, architecture or a comparable technical qualification Several years of experience in construction or site management, ideally within healthcare infrastructure or complex building projects Proven experience in coordinating contractors, subcontractors and multidisciplinary site teams Strong understanding of construction processes, scheduling, quality assurance and site safety Strong leadership, organizational and problem-solving skills High intercultural competence and confidence working with international and local teams Fluent English and Portuguese are mandatory Willingness and availability to travel extensively and stay in Angola for several consecutive weeks per assignment are essential What You Can Expect
