Research Fellowship (MSc) – Laboratory Merck Healthcare Satellite Lab -THEGLUECATCHER_** iBET,
has an open position for a research fellowship available within the project "The GlueCatcher: A Hybrid Screening Platform for Low-Affinity Molecular Glue Complexes", financed by internal funds
Master's degree in Health Biochemistry, Biological Engineering, Clinical Biochemistry, or a related field.
The following professional experience and technical skills will be considered an advantage:
Handling and cultivation of eukaryotic cells
Purification of recombinant proteins
Biochemical and biophysical characterisation of proteins
Enzymatic assays
Strong motivation for research and a good work ethic
Excellent organisational, communication, and teamwork skills
Good command of English
Expression screening and production of recombinant proteins (therapeutic targets) in eukaryotic cells.
Development of Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR) methodologies aimed at the immobilisation of various high-value pharmaceutical target proteins without the need for prior purification.
Investigation of interactions between immobilised target proteins and prodrugs or other proteins of interest using Surface Plasmon Resonance (SPR).
Development of orthogonal biochemical assays to characterise interactions between proteins and prodrugs or other proteins of interest.
This work forms part of a research programme developed in partnership with the pharmaceutical industry and includes experience within an industrial working environment, involving regular communication activities and the presentation of research results.
The fellowship will have a duration of
12months, eventually renewed until the end of project, without prejudice of the maximum limits foreseen by law.
The expected starting date is
1 September ** .
