Job Description
We are looking for an experienced
Database Administrator / Database Engineer
to design, implement, maintain, and optimize database platforms that support business-critical applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring database reliability, performance, security, and availability while collaborating closely with Development, Operations, and Security teams.
This role requires strong expertise in
Microsoft SQL Server
,
PostgreSQL
, database performance tuning, ETL processes, automation, and operational excellence within enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Database Design & Optimization
Design, implement, and maintain robust database architectures aligned with business and technical requirements.
Monitor and support critical business processes to ensure optimal database performance and reliability.
Develop, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers.
Collaborate with Development teams to improve application performance and enhance business process outcomes.
Manage and optimize complex
Microsoft SQL Server
and
PostgreSQL
environments.
Implement database best practices regarding performance, scalability, security, and availability.
Database Administration & Operations
Administer and maintain production, development, and testing database environments.
Implement and manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies.
Ensure compliance with backup and data retention policies.
Monitor database health, availability, capacity, and performance.
Proactively identify and resolve potential issues before they impact business operations.
ETL & Data Management
Develop, optimize, and monitor ETL processes to ensure reliable data integration and data quality.
Support and maintain data transformation workflows using SQL-based solutions.
Manage and support Master Data Services (MDS) environments and processes.
Technical Support & Incident Management
Provide technical support to Development, Operations, and Application Production Support teams.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, availability, and data access issues.
Conduct root cause analysis for database-related incidents.
Participate in post-mortem reviews and contribute to continuous service improvement initiatives.
Technical Advisory & Continuous Improvement
Monitor emerging technologies and industry best practices.
Leverage monitoring and observability tools such as
Dynatrace
,
ELK
, and
Zabbix
to ensure system performance and availability.
Drive automation initiatives and support DevOps best practices.
Assess and implement innovative solutions to improve operational efficiency and optimize infrastructure costs.
Provide technical recommendations regarding database architecture, performance tuning, and operational resilience.
Qualifications
Strong experience with
Microsoft SQL Server
and
PostgreSQL
administration.
Advanced SQL development, including:
Stored Procedures
Functions
Views
Triggers
Performance Optimization
Extensive experience with ETL development, optimization, and monitoring.
Strong knowledge of:
SQL Performance Tuning
Query Optimization
Indexing Strategies
Database Partitioning
Experience with
Master Data Services (MDS)
.
Proven experience conducting root cause analysis and troubleshooting complex database issues.
Knowledge of backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster recovery strategies.
Nice to Have
Experience with ITIL-based environments.
Experience working within DevOps and CI/CD practices.
Experience with monitoring and observability platforms:
