Randstad Digital specializes in IT recruitment, and we are currently hiring a Senior Operational Technology - Security Consultantfor a leading IT consulting firm in Lisbon or Porto.
We are looking for an OT Security Consultant with hands-on experience in industrial
environments to join our Cybersecurity practice. The ideal candidate combines practical
knowledge of industrial operations with cybersecurity expertise, helping clients protect critical
infrastructure and manufacturing environments against evolving cyber threats.
This role involves working with organizations across different countries and sectors such as
Energy, Utilities, Oil & Gas, Manufacturing, delivering OT security assessments, strategy,
architecture, and implementation projects.

Perform OT cybersecurity maturity and risk assessments aligned with recognized industry standards.
Assess industrial control systems (ICS), SCADA, DCS, PLC, and IIoT environments.
Develop OT cybersecurity roadmaps and remediation plans.
Support clients in achieving compliance with regulations and standards such as NIS2 and IEC *.
Review and assess OT network architectures, including segmentation and secure remote access.
Participate in OT security assessments, vulnerability assessments, and architecture reviews.
Support deployment and optimization of OT security monitoring and asset visibility solutions.
Work closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, and IT teams to implement security improvements with minimal operational impact.
Contribute to incident response planning and cyber resilience initiatives for industrial environments.
Produce technical documentation, executive reports, and client presentations.
Stay current on emerging threats targeting industrial environments and critical infrastructure.

Previous experience working in industrial operational environments, such as:

Power Generation
Transmission & Distribution / Electrical Substations
Manufacturing
Water Utilities
Chemicals
Mining
Strong understanding of industrial cybersecurity concepts, including:
Purdue Enterprise Reference Architecture (PERA / Purdue Model)
Distributed Control Systems (DCS)
Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
Working knowledge of one or more of:
IEC *
NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
NIST SP **
C2M2 (Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model)
ISA/IEC *
CIS Controls (OT context)
MITRE ATT&CK forICS
Understanding of industrial networking concepts and protocols including several of the following:
Modbus TCP/IP
Modbus RTU
DNP3
OPC Classic / OPC-UA
Experience with one or more OT security platforms such as:

Industrial Defender

TXOne Networks
Preferred Qualifications
One or more of the following would be an advantage:
Degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Telecommunications, or related field.
Industry certifications such as:
GICSP
GRID
ISA/IEC * Cybersecurity Expert
CISSP
CISM
Security+
CCNA / CCNP
Experience supporting digital transformation or Industry 4.0 initiatives.
Experience with cloud-connected industrial environments.
Knowledge of Zero Trust applied to OT.
Familiarity with industrial safety standards and functional safety (IEC * / IEC *).
