Position: Performance Engineer (x86 Optimization)
Location: Remote | Portugal
We are looking for a Performance Engineer with strong systems knowledge and hands‐on experience in low‐level optimization, CPU architecture, and C++ development.
You will work closely with SAP and Intel teams to analyze performance bottlenecks, identify optimization opportunities, and drive improvements across platforms.
What You Will Do
- Perform explorative performance analysis and root‐cause investigation in SAP HANA.
- Identify Intel x86‐specific optimization opportunities.
- Compare performance results across hardware platforms.
- Implement PoC code changes to validate improvements.
- Build and extend internal analysis tools.
- Collaborate directly with Intel's on‐site engineering teams.
Required Skills
- Strong ability to analyze and debug complex performance issues.
- Solid knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and software design.
- Excellent understanding of Intel x86 architecture and CPU internals.
- Proven experience using profiling tools such as perf and VTune.
- Strong C++ programming skills.
- Working proficiency in English (verbal and written).
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of RDBMS or database internals.
- Experience with aarch64 platform.
- Python programming experience.
