SAP P2P Functional Consultant (S/4HANA) | North America Deployment
Contract/freelance - MUST be based ONLY in Portugal
We are seeking an experienced SAP P2P Functional Consultant to support a major SAP S/4HANA rollout across the US and Canada.
Working closely with the Project Lead, you will help deploy and validate the global Procure-to-Pay (P2P) and Accounts Payable (AP) core model, acting as the customer-side functional expert while the System Integrator manages configuration and delivery.
Remit
Gather and validate US and Canada P2P/AP business requirements against the existing global core model.
Identify process gaps, local deviations, and improvement opportunities.
Support the Project Lead with solution assessments and decision-making.
Validate P2P/AP testing activities, ensuring local invoice processing and payment scenarios are fully covered.
Act as the primary P2P/AP contact for North American business stakeholders.
Maintain process documentation, training materials, and operating procedures aligned with the global template.
Escalate risks, issues, and blockers with clear recommendations for resolution.
Collaborate with business users, project teams, and third-party delivery partners to ensure successful deployment.
Skills
10+ years of SAP functional consulting experience.
Strong expertise in SAP FI-AP and end-to-end Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
Proven experience with:
Invoice processing
Payment runs
Vendor management
Hands-on experience delivering SAP S/4HANA implementations, ideally across multiple countries.
Strong requirements gathering, business analysis, and functional documentation skills.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.
Fluent English communication skills.
Desirable Skills
SAP VIM (Vendor Invoice Management) experience.
SAP PS (Project Systems) knowledge.
SAP CO (Controlling) knowledge.
Experience working on global template rollouts and localisation projects.
Ideal Candidate
Senior SAP professional with experience in large-scale transformation programmes.
Comfortable operating in a customer-facing oversight and governance role.
Strong analytical mindset with the ability to influence stakeholders and drive outcomes.
Experience working in complex, multi-country SAP environments.
