Senior Backend Developer (Java | ELK | Git Lab CI/CD) – Lisbon | Hybrid We're looking for a Senior Backend Developer to join a highly skilled team working on a large-scale digital platform in downtown Lisbon. This is a hybrid role (3x/week on-site), where you'll work hands-on with Java, Wild Fly, ELK (Elastic Search, Logstash, Kibana), EJB, and Jakarta, contributing to backend architecture and Dev Ops processes. Elastic Search is a core part of the product — not just for logs, but platform-wide search. You'll be expected to bring technical leadership, write robust and scalable code, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in an agile environment.
What you'll do
Design and implement RESTful APIs for a large-scale platform Develop backend services using Java, Wild Fly, EJB, Jakarta Work with Elastic Search as a core search engine Maintain and optimize CI/CD pipelines in Git Lab Collaborate with Dev Ops and QA teams to ensure high-quality deployments Apply secure coding practices and contribute to performance optimization Support Agile/Scrum ceremonies and sprints Use tools like Docker, Redis, Mongo DB, and Velocity in daily development What we're looking for: 7+ years of experience in backend development Strong expertise in Java and related frameworks Hands-on with ELK Stack (Elastic Search is central to the platform) Experience with CI/CD pipelines (Git Lab) Proficient in Docker, Redis, Mongo DB, and Velocity Framework Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies Degree in IT or equivalent (mandatory) English level B2 or higher Available to work 3x/week on-site in Lisbon Nice to Have: Experience with secure coding practices Background in performance tuning and system optimization
