We are looking for a Senior Java Back-End Developer to join a Unified Commerce project, leading the development of complex microservices, contributing to architectural decisions, and driving best practices across engineering teams.
What you'll be doing:
Design and develop complex Java microservices across Unified Commerce products.
Define and promote architectural standards, coding best practices and secure development practices.
Lead Identity and Access Management (IAM) initiatives involving Keycloak, Okta federation and OIDC flows.
Collaborate with client Product Owners and Architects, leading technical discussions and representing the engineering team.
Identify and resolve performance, scalability and security challenges.
Drive code reviews and quality standards, promoting tools such as SonarQube and Snyk.
Mentor Junior and Confirmed-level engineers.
Maintain technical documentation, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and runbooks.
Work model: Lisbon, Portugal — hybrid, with 3 days per week in the office. Candidates must currently reside in Portugal.
Requirements
8+ years of professional experience in software development.
Strong expertise in Java and experience with React.
Solid knowledge of microservices architecture, IAM concepts and secure development practices.
Hands-on experience with Keycloak, Okta and OIDC.
Proven ability to lead technical discussions, support engineering teams and drive code quality.
English and Portuguese proficiency at C1 level.
Candidates must currently reside in Portugal.
