ROLE SUMMARY:
TheHead of Mathematicsis a prominent, middle-leadership role designed to driveacademic excellence, data-driven progression, and a genuine passion for Mathematicsacross the Middle and Senior school faculties.
The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership to a team of specialized educators, taking full ownership of curriculum planning, delivery, and performance monitoring across external examination pathways.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and managethe Mathematics department, providing a clear vision for academic excellence across all year groups.
Design and deliveroutstanding, engaging Mathematics lessons mapped to Cambridge International (IGCSE/A-Levels) and IB Diploma frameworks.
Line-manage and mentordepartment staff, conducting lesson observations and supporting continuous professional development (CPD).
Analyze student tracking datato monitor progress, identify underperformance, and implement effective intervention plans.
Oversee curriculum planningto ensure seamless progression across Middle and Senior schools.
Manage the department budget, physical resources, and digital learning platforms efficiently.
Prepare studentsthoroughly for external public examinations, aiming for top-tier academic results.
Foster a passion for STEMthrough extra-curricular activities, math competitions, and cross-curricular initiatives.
Communicate effectivelywith parents, university counselors, and the senior leadership team regarding student achievement.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
Education:A Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related STEM field, alongside a recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
Experience:
Substantial experience teaching Mathematics within a British International School or IB school setting.
Proven experience teachingIGCSE, A-Level, and/or IBDP Mathematics.
Prior middle leadership experience (e.g., Head of Department, Second in Department, or Key Stage Coordinator) is highly desirable.
Language Skills:Native or near-native fluency inEnglish(instructional language).
