As a Sous Chef in our bustling kitchen you will play a vital role in creating and executing the culinary vision of our restaurant With a focus on fresh local ingredients and innovative techniques you will work closely with our Head Chef to develop new and exciting menu items that keep our customers coming back for more Responsibilities
Assist the Head Chef in managing and overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations Lead and direct the kitchen team in the absence of the Head Chef Collaborate with the Head Chef to create new menu items and daily specials Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and meets food safety standards Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed Train and mentor junior kitchen staff on proper cooking techniques and procedures Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment at all times Requirements
Proven experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-volume restaurant setting Creative flair for developing new dishes while maintaining consistency with existing menu items Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage a team Knowledge of various cooking methods ingredients equipment and procedures Proficient in Portuguese cuisine with an understanding of local ingredients preferred Excellent time management skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure Ability to adapt to changing priorities and take on additional responsibilities as needed Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings weekends and holidays Salary
