Senior Piping Stress Engineer – Industrial Mechanics

pQuadrante is hiring astrong Senior Piping Stress Engineer /strong to join our emIndustry Business Unit, Industrial Mechanics department /em at our Porto office. /ppWith both national and international projects of varying scales and typologies, Quadrante offers a unique professional experience in the Portuguese engineering market. /ppbr / /ppstrongResponsibilities: /strong /pulliLead, oversee, and contribute to the design and development of piping systems in multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM projects (industrial energy, OG, renewable hydrogen, biogas, and biomethane), taking full technical ownership from feasibility and FEED through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning /liliApply advanced knowledge of piping design for both severe and non-severe service conditions (in accordance with DVGW regulations, ASME B31.1/B31.3, EN 13480, ISO 15649, PED 2014/68/EU) to ensure engineering integrity and regulatory compliance throughout the project lifecycle /liliPrepare and review technical documentation, including feasibility study reports, specifications, piping classes, plant layouts, 3D models, PIDs, line lists, isometrics, material take-offs, tender packages, and cost estimates /liliDevelop and coordinate piping engineering work plans; br / track progress, report to the Project Manager, and monitor key material quantities, long-lead items (LLIs), and deliverables /liliLead routing studies, equipment layout definition, and 3D model development, ensuring constructability, operability, and maintainability are embedded from early project phases /liliPerform and review pipe stress analysis (CAESAR II), flexibility studies, hydraulic calculations, support design, and nozzle load assessments; br / identify design risks and propose mitigation measures /liliRepresent the piping discipline in interdisciplinary coordination meetings, design reviews, model reviews, and client interactions /liliParticipate in and support HAZOP, HAZID, SIL, and constructability reviews /liliEnsure timely project execution, managing priorities and workload within the assigned team /liliContribute to the development of tools, standards, and methodologies to improve efficiency and quality /liliStay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and technical developments /liliCommunicate effectively with contractors, regulatory authorities, and technical stakeholders to support construction, system acceptance, and commissioning /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongProfile: /strong /pulliMaster’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferably with a focus on Fluid Mechanics, Energy, or Structural Engineering /liliProficiency in English (mandatory) /liliMinimum of 5 years of professional experience in industrial piping design /liliExperience in renewable hydrogen, biomethane/biogas, or industrial piping and equipment design is highly valued /liliProficiency in relevant engineering tools, such as E3D (PDMS), AutoCAD Plant 3D, and ANSYS (valued) /liliAdvanced experience in pipe stress analysis using CAESAR II (mandatory), in accordance with ASME B31.1/B31.3 and EN 13480 /liliAbility to manage multiple tasks with a strategic perspective, while maintaining attention to detail and prioritization /liliExperience in team leadership and coordination of internal and external stakeholders /li /ulpbr / /ppstrongWhat
