The Role

We are looking for a talented Infrastructure Architect to join our Technology Department. This role and the team will be located in Lisbon (flexible working mode).

You will need to work closely with the team to design, discuss and come up with a better solution to support our services. You will also frequently be engaged with other teams to support their needs on Infrastructure level. Our main target is to have a reliable and stable network, to meet future service expectations, and to give a service of excellence to our customers.

Requirements

What you will do:

  • Plan and create the vision for our global distributed Network, from an infrastructure perspective. Define the roadmap and evolution, according to the service requirements and market technology trends and best practices;
  • Design, deploy and operate our global infrastructure;
  • Think about scale, reliability and cost efficiency for our infrastructure;
  • Maintain optimal observability on the systems and applications' availability and performance (logs, metrics, alerts);
  • Think about scale, reliability and cost efficiency for our on-premises infrastructure;
  • Attain optimal levels of security and scalability;
  • Achieve a high level system efficiency and performance;
  • Perform regular maintenance and house-keeping, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware resources, systems and processes, as well as the successful completion of any automated jobs (e.g. config backups);
  • Perform regular system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all infrastructure;
  • Rollout sw patches and upgrades, ensuring the infrastructure is kept secure and compliant with best practices;
  • Investigate issues to their root cause and resolution;
  • Set high standards for documentation of designs and systems.

What you will bring:

  • A minimum of 10 years as an Infrastructure engineer and or architect;
  • Experience in administration of Red Hat Linux and virtualized environments based on VMware ESXi;
  • Experience in designing virtualized environments (hardware and software), both VNF as well as CNF based;
  • Experience with automated orchestration, both VNF based and CNF based;
  • Experience with public cloud deployments and administration (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus;
  • Experience in designing storage;
  • Experience in designing and deploying Red Hat Openstack/Openshift;
  • Experience in systems hardening and security management, IPTables and SELinux;
  • Experience in designing and managing IAM systems, such as OpenLDAP, Active Directory and Bind DNS;
  • Experience with CI/CD systems and pipelines (ideally with Gitlab);
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code and related tools, such as Terraform, Ansible or Puppet;
  • Familiarity with proxies, web servers and load balancers, such as Squid, NGINX and HAProxy;
  • Familiarity with IP protocols, such as TCP, UDP, ICMP, SCTP.
