ElbeFruit GmbH is a leading importer of high-quality snow peas and sugar snaps, dedicated to delivering exceptional produce to the European and UK markets. We are seeking a seasoned professional to join our dynamic team, focusing on key account management and supporting our expansion into the retail sector.

Tasks

As a Senior Trader - Key Accounts, you will be responsible for managing the procurement, sales, and distribution of fresh produce. Your primary focus will be on developing and maintaining relationships with current key customers, while also supporting ElbeFruit's transition into the retail market. This role is critical in ensuring customer satisfaction and driving sales growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance relationships with existing key customers.
  • Manage the full sales process, including spot sales and spot purchases from suppliers.
  • Handle claims with customers and suppliers independently, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Increase historical sales by identifying and developing new sales opportunities.
  • Support the transition into the retail market by identifying potential retail clients and assisting in strategy development.
  • Ensure sales are closed with high margins and timely customer payments.
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Analyze market trends and sales data to inform trading decisions and identify growth opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize processes and achieve business goals.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in trading, procurement, or sales within the fruit and vegetable sector, particularly in a senior role.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management and trading principles in agriculture.
  • Proven ability to handle key customer accounts and manage sales processes end-to-end.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, financial modeling, and relevant software applications (e.g., Microsoft Excel, ERP systems).
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Dutch, French, and/or German is a plus.
