Vestas Technology & Operations (VTO) serves as the integrated CTO and COO organization within Vestas, covering the entire industrial value chain—from Research & Development, Procurement, and Manufacturing to Supply Chain and Quality.

To ensure customer centricity and successful delivery of customer projects, VTO operates through a Product Line organization composed of Regional Engineering & Technology teams supported by Global Functions. This setup manages regional technical front-end activities across the entire customer project lifecycle, while also serving as the ears to the market and the voice of the customer within the broader organization.

Global Power Plant Solutions is one of the Global Functions responsible for enabling the regional technical front-end colleagues with Technical- and Functional Excellence within Cybersecurity, SCADA and Grid connection.

Responsibilities

In this global role you will bring a strong blend of advanced SCADA technical expertise and a product-oriented mindset, serving as the key link between regional, front-line SCADA teams and central functions such as R&D, Service, and Digital Solutions.

  • Collect and analyze requirements from customers, regulatory instances and the Vestas value chain subsequently translating them into structured requirements to be prioritized and delivered through products, services and processes
  • Provide regions with product expertise, including both product capabilities, supporting processes and guidance regarding requests for non-standard products and features
  • Represent the Product Line organization in development projects
  • Enable regions to deploy SCADA solutions throughout the project lifecycle with global solutions and processes for example new product releases, automation tools and deployment process improvements
  • Lead global, cross-functional SCADA communities focused on continuously enhancing processes, methodologies, and knowledge through active engagement and training, including driving and overseeing related initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation/Control Engineering, Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience in SCADA systems, including development and/or deployment roles
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working with SCADA architecture and hardware platforms, preferably within the wind or broader renewable energy industry
  • Strong knowledge of industrial communication protocols such as OPC UA, Modbus, and similar
  • Proficiency in working with Linux, VMware, Windows, and SQL-based environments
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and optimize SCADA solutions in operational environments
  • Experience working with Vestas SCADA products is considered an advantage
