It oversees the management of major hotel units located in Vilamoura, Carvoeiro, Lagos, Albufeira, Aroeira, and Madeira, as well as golf courses and equestrian centers. The Events Director will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and evaluation of large-scale events, ensuring that every aspect is meticulously managed and meets high standards. This role requires an individual with leadership skills, strong organizational capabilities, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of the technical and logistical elements of event management. Key Responsibilities: Create detailed schedules for each event, ensuring all stages from planning to execution are completed on time. Select and book appropriate venues for events, ensuring they meet all logistical and safety requirements. Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring all operations are conducted within planned financial limits. Monitor spending to prevent overages and identify opportunities for savings. Work with marketing teams to promote events through various channels, including social media, traditional media, and other relevant platforms. Work with communications and marketing teams to manage relationships with the media, sponsors, and other key stakeholders. Lead and managing teams responsible for event execution, including volunteers and temporary staff. Develop training programs to ensure the team is prepared and skilled to perform their duties during events. Supervise venue setup, event execution, and final cleanup, ensuring everything runs smoothly. Anticipate and resolve issues that may arise during an event, ensuring participants have a positive experience. Prepare detailed event evaluation reports and gather feedback from participants and sponsors to identify areas for improvement for future events. Identify and cultivate relationships with sponsors and partners, ensuring financial and logistical support for events. Negotiate and manage contracts with all involved parties, balancing sponsor needs with event objectives. Key Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Event Management, Sports, or related fields. Additional courses or certifications in event management, communication, sports marketing, or leadership can be advantageous. A minimum of 5 to 7 years' experience in managing and organizing large-scale events, preferably in the sports sector. Experience in leadership and managing multidisciplinary teams. Excellent organizational competencies and project management skills, with proven ability to plan and execute complex events. Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with sponsors, participants, and other stakeholders. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to convey information clearly and effectively. Ability to think strategically and solve problems quickly during events. Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure that all aspects of the events are executed precisely. Ability to work in dynamic environments and adapt quickly to changes and unexpected challenges.
