In this context, the AI Product Owner plays a critical role by defining the vision, strategy, and roadmap for enterprise‑grade AI systems—ranging from classic machine learning to generative and agentic AI—on cloud platforms like Azure and AWS. This role bridges strategic business insight with technical feasibility, ensuring that AI products are not only innovative but also secure, scalable, and aligned with organizational goals, ultimately delivering maximum business value. Responsibilities Product Strategy & Vision Define and articulate the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for AI solutions, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives and customer needs. Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and user interviews to identify opportunities and inform product decisions for AI offerings. Translate high-level business requirements into detailed product specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria for AI features and capabilities. Product Backlog Management Own and prioritize the product backlog for AI development teams, ensuring a clear understanding of what needs to be built and why. Collaborate closely with AI/ML engineers, data scientists, and solution architects to refine requirements and ensure technical feasibility and optimal implementation. Manage the product lifecycle from ideation through launch and iteration, focusing on continuous improvement and value delivery. Stakeholder Engagement & Communication Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, customers, and the AI development teams. Communicate the value proposition, progress, and impact of AI products to diverse audiences, from executive leadership to technical teams. Facilitate workshops, presentations, and demos to gather feedback, validate concepts, and build consensus around AI product initiatives. AI Solution Definition & Validation Collaborate with solution architects and engineering teams to define the functional and non‑functional requirements for AI solution architectures (Classic ML, GenAI, and Agentic AI), ensuring scalability, security, compliance, and cost‑effectiveness. Define requirements for integrating AI capabilities into enterprise systems and workflows, leveraging APIs, microservices, and containerized deployments. Work with data science and engineering teams to define success metrics (KPIs) for AI models and features, and validate their performance against business objectives. Governance & Best Practices Advocacy Advocate for and define product requirements related to ethical AI principles, data privacy regulations, and corporate standards within AI solutions. Contribute to the definition of internal AI product frameworks and design patterns, ensuring consistency and reusability across products. Stay abreast of emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and cloud services to identify new product opportunities and inform the AI roadmap. Qualifications & Skills Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, product ownership, or business analysis roles, with a strong focus on data, AI/ML or data‑driven products. AI Product Understanding: Strong understanding of Classic Machine Learning & Deep Learning concepts. Familiarity with Generative AI & Large Language Models (LLMs). Understanding of Agentic AI concepts and multi‑agent orchestration frameworks. Experience defining requirements for AI/ML platform services. Familiarity with MLOps, DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines as they relate to product delivery. Agile Methodologies: Proven experience working in Agile environments, writing user stories, managing backlogs, and facilitating sprint ceremonies. Communication & Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into business value.
