Founding Relationship Manager — Private Wealth (International Families)
Yestella Academy, our free financial-education programme, is live. Yestella is also building a wealth-management service, which will be provided through licensed partners. Regulated services will be provided through an authorised partner firm, and no one in this role gives regulated advice until that firm has certified or registered them.
This is a founding role. The start date depends on Yestella UK Limited being incorporated, on the partner arrangements for your location being in place, and on the business being ready to start. We will tell you plainly where things stand at every stage, and we will not ask you to resign on the strength of a conversation.
The role
- Look after a small number of internationally mobile families, from the first conversation through onboarding and regular reviews.
- Explain allocation, risk, liquidity and cost in plain language. You are measured on understanding, suitability and conduct, not product sales.
- Any advice you give is given under the licensed partner firm's arrangements and follows its advice process.
- Work with investment and compliance colleagues, and with the partner firm.
- Help shape the client journey, the review process and the Yestella Academy.
- Build relationships in your market with relocation lawyers, tax advisers, schools and banks.
What you bring
- Demonstrable client-facing experience in private banking, wealth management or a family office, ideally with internationally mobile clients.
- CMVM Regulation 3/2018 competence for investment advice, or the ability to obtain it. Registration or certification would be through the licensed firm through which advice is given. We support study and exam costs.
- Professional fluency in English. Portuguese required; Spanish an advantage.
- Sound judgement on suitability, conflicts and conduct, and a clean regulatory record.
- Right to work in Portugal.
Pay
€60,000–€90,000 gross a year. Plus a discretionary bonus tied to client outcomes (such as understanding, suitability and service) and to conduct, not to product sales or investment returns. Founding-team terms are discussed at interview.
The course is optional when you apply. Before a first interview we ask for your code or a short written alternative, which counts the same. If neither works for you, tell us and a person will decide. The course result is one part of our review, never the whole of it. The written alternative carries the same weight.
Need an adjustment, more time, a different format, or the written alternative instead of the course? Email It will not count against you, and we use what you tell us only to make the adjustment.
We reply to everyone who applies within ten working days. You can submit your CV and the written note in Portuguese or English; if you write in Portuguese, we may use a translation tool to read them. Interviews are in English.
Equal opportunity
We do not discriminate on any of the grounds in Article 24 of the Portuguese Labour Code, including ancestry, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, family situation, nationality, ethnic origin or race, religion, beliefs, disability or chronic illness. We welcome applications from people of every background, age, gender, ethnicity, religion or belief, sexual orientation and disability, and from people returning to work after a break. Tell us about any adjustment you need at any stage. We assess candidates against the requirements of the role and nothing else.
