Senior Robotics Software Engineer (ROS1/ROS2)
Tagus Park, Portugal (Hybrid - 3 days on-site)

Join MOV.AI , an innovative robotics software company developing the autonomy platform powering the next generation of Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) . Their technology enables robot fleets to navigate, localize, and operate autonomously in complex industrial and logistics environments across Europe and beyond.
About the Role
MOV.AI is looking for a Senior Robotics Software Engineer to strengthen the robustness, reliability, and industrial readiness of its robotics software platform. This is a hands-on engineering position focused on real-world robotic deployments rather than research or theoretical algorithm development.
Your Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance robotics software for autonomous mobile robots.
- Support and contribute to ROS1 to ROS2 migration initiatives.
- Improve navigation, localization, and robot behavior.
- Increase system robustness, reliability, and maintainability.
- Develop software across multiple components of the robotics platform.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues in production environments.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality robotics solutions.
- Support deployments of autonomous robots in real customer environments.
What You'll Work With
- ROS1 as the current production stack.
- ROS2 Navigation Stack running in Docker containers.
- ROS1 ROS2 bridge communication.
- Industrial AMR deployments in live customer environments.
What We're Looking For
- Strong experience in Robotics Software Engineering .
- Solid knowledge of ROS1 and/or ROS2 .
- Experience with robot navigation, localization, and autonomous systems.
- Familiarity with Linux and Docker-based development.
- Experience deploying robotic systems into production environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for building reliable industrial robotics software.
