Sous Chef | Full Time | Premium Bar & Restaurant in Lagos.
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic
Sous Chef for OLI wine&dine in
Lagos.


A contemporary place with a traditional soul - typical / traditional ingredients and elements, with more contemporary preparation and presentation.


The Restaurant


We are looking to create a home away from home, which offers all day dining and the perfect place to eat & drink and, where, passionate about their craft, our team set out to deliver perfection every time.


We will serve a modern menu of Mediterranean dishes, where the core ingredient will always be the hero of the plate.

Made of fresh and local products and where everything is cooked / baked inhouse.

Enjoy an intimate & relaxed atmosphere whilst enjoying a selection of food options, premium spirits, cocktails, wine and more.

An intimate experience, the venue will seat around 70 covers in summer and 40 in winter.

Please note that we do not offer accommodation and that due to the timeframe we are looking at local chefs.


The Role


To assist renowned head chef, Felipe Salles in the running of the kitchen, priding itself on our fresh food philosophy, pushing boundaries in standards and delivery.

You will be an integral part of the success of the business by helping ensure the highest level of standards, service and quality.


Responsibilities

  • Controlling and directing the food preparation process
  • Approving and polishing dishes before they reach the guests.
  • Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels
  • Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality
  • Creating a positive work environment of cooperation and respect between colleagues
  • Determining food inventory needs, stocking and ordering
  • Ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
  • Being responsible for health and safety
  • Being responsible for food hygiene practices

Who We Are Looking For

  • Are already a sous chef in a restaurant or hotel known for its great food, service and style for at least 1 year
  • Background in Portuguese / Mediterranean cuisine
  • Have a passion for food, It's a way of life, not just a job
  • Are an enthusiastic and selfmotivated team player with strong communication skills.
  • Great attention to detail
  • Can demonstrate exceptional organisational, planning, and prioritising skills.
  • Must have a good understanding of all dietary and legislative requirements (HACCP)
  • Are fluent in Portuguese and have a good understanding of English
