Seedsight is on a mission to revolutionize agriculture and food commodities trading and processing, and we're looking for an outstanding Senior Data Engineer with a strong DataOps background to join our dynamic team.

As a key player in our technology team, you'll be one of the first hirings of the company, being one the few engineers handling our data, therefore being instrumental in building and optimizing the data infrastructure (from scratch) that drives our innovative solutions.

About Your Role:

• Architect and Implement Data Pipelines: Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient data pipelines to handle our growing data needs, ensuring seamless data flow across the organization.

• Data Quality and Governance: Implement and oversee data validation, cleansing, and governance processes to ensure the highest data quality and compliance with regulatory requirements.

• Automation and Optimization: Automate data workflows and processes using CI/CD practices, identifying opportunities for optimization, and implementing solutions to enhance performance.

• Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Develop real-time monitoring systems for data pipelines and workflows, quickly identifying and resolving any issues to maintain smooth operations.

• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights.

• Documentation and Standards: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for data processes, pipelines, and infrastructure, establishing best practices and standards across the organization.

• Cloud Infrastructure Management: Assist in designing and building reliable, fault-tolerant cloud infrastructure, following industry best practices, and leveraging cloud services to enhance our data capabilities.

• Integration of ML Pipelines: Collaborate with the ML collaborators to integrate machine learning models into data pipelines, ensuring seamless data processing and delivery for advanced analytics.

• Security and Compliance: Work with security teams to design and implement a secure data infrastructure, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and best practices.

RequisitosIndustry Experience: > 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, with a focus on DataOps.

Technical Skills:

o Passion for cloud computing and a drive to make an impact in the agriculture industry.

o Familiar with both Python for Data Engineering and DataOps/DevOps in public cloud ecosystems (AWS/Azure/GCP).

o Proven experience in defining cloud computing strategies and building cloud infrastructure.

o Expertise in debugging communication protocols and integrating Machine Learning pipelines.

o Strong understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

o Proficiency in cloud based IoT architectures and cloud computing services.

o Experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and exploratory data analysis.

o Experience in developing data structures (databases) and algorithms to support decision-making.

o Knowledge about Machine Learning and AI pipelines in cloud environments.


Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, proactive thinking and autonomous, with an eye for detail and adherence to high standards.

Communication Skills: Fluent in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Educational Background: Advanced degree (MSc or equivalent) in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering/Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
