Carlos Montez Champalimaud), a private, non-profit research institution in Lisbon, Portugal, is looking for a Postdoctoral Fellow to join Ana Luísa Correia's group at the Champalimaud Research Program (funding from EMBO IG 5329).

A postdoctoral fellow position is available immediately at the Cancer Dormancy & Immunity lab.

Our laboratory is interested in understanding the mechanisms that regulate breast cancer dormancy, and in finding ways to effectively target dormant cancer cells and prevent metastatic disease.

Research Fields

  • Biological sciences;
  • Cancer Biology; Immunology; Immuno-Oncology.
Education Level

  • PhD or equivalent.
Skills/Qualifications

Minimum qualifications

  • PhD in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, Cancer Biology, or a related field, with extensive wet lab experience (including with cell culture, molecular biology and biochemistry).
Essential skills

i. Strong publication record with at least one first author publication from graduate school;
ii. Experience working with mouse tumor or metastasis models;
iii. High motivation and creativity, ability to independently conduct and critically analyze their own innovative research;
iv. Ability to contribute positively to an imaginative, collaborative and lively laboratory environment;
v. Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Desirable skills that will also be considered

i. Background in Cancer Immunology or Tumor Microenvironment is strongly desired;
ii. Experience in multi-color flow cytometry and/or live cell and confocal imaging is highly encouraged;
iii. Computational skills are a plus.

Languages

  • English: Level Excellent.
