As a SAP Testing Manager, you will help the Test Lead the authoring of the testing strategy document.

You will work closely with and drive the SI, business, and IT teams (functional, technical, data, security, release management, project management, etc) to execute the test preparation and testing activities detailed in the testing strategy document and provide detailed reports around test execution and defects related to each testing cycle.


What you will learn and contribute to

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the creation of testing strategy documentation
  • Work with the Test Lead to coordinate with both business and IT leads to identify and fill gaps within the testing strategy
  • Work with the Test Lead to coordinate the review of the testing strategy document by both business and IT leads and ensure that all questions/comments are addressed
  • Work with business process leads to prioritize test scenarios to be tested during each testing cycles
  • Work with IT leads to ensure that SAP and integrated boundary systems are ready for testing. If no test system exists, work with the boundary systems on an approach for how test scenario will be executed
  • Work with the data and release management teams to align on their approach to data validation and performance testing
  • Work with the SI/IT/Business Leads to identify testers for each of the testing cycles and ensure that they have access to testing tools, SAP, boundary systems, etc
  • Help the Test Lead to develop material and lead sessions around test execution
  • Help the Test Lead drive test execution during each testing phase
  • Create KPIs and reports from testing tool to show management the progress of testing/defects on a daily/weekly basis
  • Help the Test Lead drive daily standup with testing team around test execution and defect management
  • Work with test coordinators to align key areas of focus for outstanding test scripts and defects that are pending during each testing cycle

Your skills and experience

Key Skills

  • Project/

People Management:
Be able to navigate complex, large SAP engagements and work closely with multiple workstreams (internal and external teams). High quality deliverables should be executed within the expected timeframe.

Communication with key stakeholders around the progress of deliverables and any risks associated with them, especially risks related to resources and timelines, is key.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as being a self-starter who will drive key deliverables to completion is a must.

Be able to drive both the SI and internal teams to execute their test preparation and test execution activities on time is a must.

Being organized and developing and presenting reports around test prep, test execution, and defects is also key. Foster an innovative, inclusive and collaborative team-oriented work environment with both the internal and external teams.

  • Test Leadership Skills: Assist in developing applicable (testing) methodologies, constructs, approaches, tools, points of view, and accelerators to streamline the testing process.

To qualify for the role you must have:

  • Solid understanding of business processes and integration points across functional streams in an SAP S/4 HANA implementation
  • Experience as a test lead on at least one large scale SAP S/4 HANA implementations
  • Understanding of leading test practices for largescale ERP implementations
  • Experience establishing and managing complex schedules, plans and trackers
  • 35 years Handson expertise with leading test management tools (HP QC/ALM preferred)
  • Experience working in conjunction with large SIs as well as independent consultants
  • Strong reporting skills using test management tools
  • Strong communication skills to be able to report status of testing and defect resolution to project leads

It would be nice if you also had:

  • MBA or MIS from an accredited college/university is preferred
  • SAP Certification (Functional and/or technical) preferred
