Accounting Supervisor (Accounts Payable) - Minisom

ROLE SUMMARY

As the Accounting Supervisor (Accounts Payable), reporting to the Accounting Manager and collaborating closely with the local Head of Finance, Enrico Piciucchi, you will oversee the accounts payable team and manage all GL processes and responsibilities. Your primary focus will be enhancing accounting information and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Supports the AP team, monitors month-end closing processes, and ensures timely and accurate submissions to Corporate via HFM.
  • Ensures timely and accurate payments and collaborates with the treasury department on related matters.
  • Conducts regular ledger closings.
  • Manages monthly accruals, deferred costs, and reconciles manual journal entries.
  • Prepares financial statements, identifying errors, and evaluating results.
  • Analyses and reports on variances and fluctuations.
  • Serves as a liaison between departments.
  • Manages fixed assets and reconciles Trial Balance with the fixed assets module.
  • Ensures adherence to organizational policies by developing and maintaining relevant processes.
  • Handles audit and accounting compliance procedures, supporting relationships with auditors.
  • Assists in preparing local statutory accounts and related financial statement notes.
  • Proficient in tax matters, ensuring full compliance and efficiency in tax-related activities.
  • Prepares monthly tax declarations such as VAT, withholding taxes, Mod. 30, Intrastat, COPE, Saft.
  • Manages communication with revenue offices and oversees tax audits by maintaining proper records.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience.
  • Degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Sound financial analytical skills, business acumen, and understanding of metrics/systems.
  • Proficiency in English and Portuguese.

Our main office is situated in Paço de Arcos, in the Lisbon/Oeiras area, and our flexible work policy allows for 2 days of remote work per week.
